PROCLAMATION NO. 205 /1999

A PROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE ETHIO-RUSSIA

ECONOMIC, SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL COOPERATION

AGREEMENT

 

WHEREAS, an Agreement on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Russian Federation Government was signed at Moscow, Russia, on the 26th day of November, 1999;

WHEREAS, it is stipulated in the Agreement that the Agreement shall enter into force on the latter date on which either party notifies the other through diplomatic channel upon the fulfillment of its necessary constitutional requirements;

WHEREAS, the House of Peoples’ Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has ratified the said Agreement at its session held on the 6th day of June, 2000.

NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55 Sub-Articles (1) and (12) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, it is hereby proclaimed as follows:-

  1. Short Title

This Proclamation may be cited as the “Ethio-Russia Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation Agreement Ratification Proclamation No. 205 / 2000.

  1. Ratification of the Agreement

The Agreement on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Russian Federation Government signed at Moscow on the 26th day of November, 1999, is hereby ratified.

  1. The Power of the Minister of Economic Development and Cooperation

The Minister of Economic Development and Cooperation is empowered by this Proclamation to implement the Agreement.

  1. Effective Date

This Proclamation shall enter into force on the 6th day of June, 2000.
