Proclamation No. 1006/2017

A PROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE EXTRADITION TREATY BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

WHEREAS, the Extradition Treaty between the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Government of the People’s Republic of China has been signed in Addis Ababa, on the 4th day of May, 2014;

NOW,THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55 (1) and (12) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, it is hereby proclaimed as follows:

1. Short Title

This Proclamation may be cited as the “Extradition Treaty between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the People’s Republic of China ratification Proclamation No.1006/2017”.

2. Ratification of the Agreement

The Extradition Treaty signed in Addis Ababa on the 4th day of May, 2014 between the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Government of the People’s Republic of China, is hereby ratified.

3. Responsibility of the Federal Attorney General

The Federal Attorney General is hereby empowered to undertake all acts necessary for the implementation of the Treaty.

4. Effective Date

This Proclamation shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Federal Negarit Gazettee.
