The Public Procurement and Property Administration Agency announced that the government’s e-procurement system will be implemented from July 7, 2021.
The Director General of the Agency, Haji Ibsa, said the government, in collaboration with development partners, has made the necessary infrastructure development and will start piloting in nine government offices.
The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, the Ministry of Revenue, the Ethiopian Roads Authority, the Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Agency, the Public Procurement and Disposal Service, Addis Ababa University, Addis Ababa University of Science and Technology, and the Public Procurement and Property Administration Agency are included in the pilot project.
He said, all bids and bidding processes will be carried out by the government through electronic procurement.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, 50 federal institutions will be included in the procurement system in the next six months.
